Is it possible to inspire care for sex workers through an embodied experience? Striptopia — my Master’s Thesis — reimagines the strip club as a space for care, knowledge transmission, and solidarity. The pop-up strip club that was enriched with a life-drawing session, a talk by ︎︎︎Amber Eve and a Q&A with different sexworkers served as a contact zone between sex workers and civilians and actively centered sex worker voices. Based on an extensive research essay, the project seeks to challenge stigma and advocates for dignity, safety, and a deeper understanding of sex work in a global net of inequality. The event took place at QfR - Queerfeministischer Raum.
Striptopia is now also in residency at ︎︎︎ Transition Radio. The contact zone is re-inventing itself into a radio show, with familiar voices, tunes & stories from the club, guests, humor and a pinch of spice & acadedmia.
A second edition of the event took place on 04.04.2026 with a stronger emphasis on queer performers and support by the Sexworker’s Collective. For the future, we strive for a more collective organization, moving the project away from my Master Thesis.
