Is it possible to inspire care for sex workers through an embodied experience? Striptopia — my Master’s Thesis — reimagines the strip club as a space for care, knowledge transmission, and solidarity. The pop-up strip club that was enriched with a life-drawing session, a talk by ︎︎︎Amber Eve and a Q&A with different sexworkers served as a contact zone between sex workers and civilians and actively centered sex worker voices. Based on an extensive research essay, the project seeks to challenge stigma and advocates for dignity, safety, and a deeper understanding of sex work in a global net of inequality.
The event took place at QfR - Queerfeministischer Raum, further editions are planned. Stay in touch via ︎︎︎str.ptopia.
